I recently downloaded the nero software. I dont know how to burn cds using this. My music is on napster. How in the heck can i get it from napster to nero? . I thought I would get step by step instructions, like I did with winamp. Can anyone give this girl a little clue? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

well it depends on whether you want to burn the tunes as mp3s or as audio CDs

If you just want to archive mp3s, fire up the Nero wizard and compile a new data disc. An interface similar to File Manager should appear, from which you can find the directory your mp3 are stored in and drag and drop until you fill the CD, then burn http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Burning audio CDs is a little more involved.
WinAmp can use one of its plug-ins to convert mp3 to wav files (right click on WinAmp, settings, output, click the WaveOut one if it is there(I think!)). Then when you select and play an mp3 in WinAmp, it will create a wave file (about 10MB/minute - free some space first!).
Then in Nero you can select to burn an audio CD, and drag and drop the wav files you converted, then burn.
Good Luck!

I have just started converting my vinyl collection (about 50 LPs) to CD, so I think most of this is pretty correct http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Useful and excellent freeware I came across is:
Exact Audio Copy - an excellent sound file manager with some useful editing tools built in - www.exactaudiocopy.de (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de)

Wav Splitter - a really cool little program that allows you to grab tracks from a large wav file (e.g. a whole side of an LP) to save as separate tracks - http://claudiosoft.online.fr/wavsplit.html

And if you don't like those, you are going to find something you can use here: http://www.davecentral.com/audedit.html

Enjoy!

I just use the Wizard and create a audio disc and then pick the mp3's which WILL be automatically converted to wav. The whole process can be done in a couple of minutes. Truthfully Nero is the easiest of the burner software.

lol thanks jacob, hadn't realised that short-cut. I like doing things the hard way http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
I just discovered Nero's recording filters too. I'm going to have lots of fun with this!
