What is your cellular provider and how happy are you with it.
I have Verizon wich is ok, but I would like to know how it compares with the other providers before I renew my contract.
I just have straightforward phone service, no internet or anything else.
Thanks.

I have been using Sprint's PCS service for my cell provider for the past several months. Assuming you are in a coverage area, then the quality and dependability is superb. Pricing is moderate for the most part, and Sprint usually has several promotional plans for new subscribers. I believe currently it is something like 2000 free night/weekend minutes per month for $35+ plans as long as keep the service. Standard services include caller id, three way calling (takes 2x the air time though!), and voicemail.
Now for the bad part, Sprint does not offer any real solution for roaming. They do have a $10 per month deal for the first 50 (I think this is right) minutes of roaming, then a break on additional minutes as compared to the normal costs. Normal roaming can cost $.35 for calls made within a specified area and upto $.65 for calls place across area lines (usually interstate calls).
I reside in a good coverage area, so I really don't care about the roaming. If you do look into PCS, be sure to check out the long distance plans. You can usually pick up free long distance or double the minutes for your anyime minutes with most base plans.
Many of my friends are using your current service, Verizon. I've heard no major complaints, other than the occasional concern regarding the dependability of the service itself. Many also seem to like that Verizon offers several plans with no roaming charges. Must be nice....
Catch ya' later,

I work for a cellular company - and I can tell you it depends on where you live. Each company has it's plus, when broken down, all pricing is about the same> If you would like some help on makin your choice, I'd be willing to lend a hand...but through e-mail if possible. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
glitterin is right. Thanks to competition, most cellular providers offer similar plans. Just make sure the company offers the phone you like, a plan you can live with, and that they have coverage where you want to use it! Every cellular network has it's "dead spots". Try not to get a provider that has a dead spots where you live, work, shop... etc. Demand a refund if you go home with your new phone and find out that it doesn't work very well.
BTW, I also work for a cellular company.

Always ask if they have a 30 day return plan - just in case the coverage is not good in your area. Some will let you return phone, and end the contract if you are not satisfied within the trial period.
