www.musclemag.com (http://www.musclemag.com)
Any of the many muscle magazines at the local convenience store should have a similar site.

Can't offer too much on nutrition except "If it tastes good, spit it out!
If you are unable to find a website about weightlifting, pick up Bill Pearl's book Getting Stronger.
Bill lives down the road from me and his book has helped me greatly. I had a weak back for years and he told me to follow the "back" workout section of his book and within a year, no more back problems!
Good luck on your bid to stay healthy! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I had some minor gum grafting done a few weeks ago. I could only eat soft foods for about 2 weeks. I lost approx 5 pounds by eating soup and bread and not much else. It wasn't just the food, it was the quantity of food. My daily intake was about 1/3 of what it normally was http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
I know you are not looking to lose weight, but I figured I'd chime in http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for the info all i greatly appreciate it.
I have been weight lifting for about 1 1/2 years now (love it), but, i have a terribly high metabolism, i feel too thin, and i havent stuck to a strict diet plan, so i was wondering if there was some info to help me on the net, or as barbados did, perhaps some good publications you know of.
Thanks again,
cm.

I lifted for a while. In 6 weeks, everybody I know noticed a difference. In 6 months, I had a steady stream of 12 year old boys and cops wanting to know how I got so big.
I learned more from magazines than I did from books. Books by Bill Kennedy are my choice.
In re diet: The diet recommended by endocrinologists ( diabetes specialists ) and cardiologists is also best for weightlifters:
White meat ( poultry and seafood ), lots of fruits and vegetables, eat 5 small meals a day rather than two big ones. Red meat isn't good for anybody. No fried or breaded foods. No refined sugar ( candy, sodas ).
Eat balanced meals - the digestive system works best when all the ingredients needed are there at the same time.
Get a diabetic cookbook. Diabetic diets are healthy for everybody.
People will tell you the muscle turns to fat if you stop lifting. Wrong. What happens is, people continue to eat to gain muscle mass after they quit lifting, and bloat. Trust me on this one.
