I want to replace my keyboard because it feels like a damp squid.
How do you choose a keyboard when there are no shops around with some to try out?
I remember going to a clients once who had an excellent Cherry keyboard with a nice light touch and slight click to it. You could type really fast on it.
Thanks,
Jon

hehe, good luck finding a "click" keyboard now-a-days. Just don't make'em anymore. My keyboard is an OLD "click" type keyboard. Yes you can type faster on these than today's mushy keyboards. I've had this keyboard for 10 years! And...it was old and used when I snagged it! It's probably 12-15 years old. I have replaced the keys on it 3 times because the letters keep wearing off.
Are there any places to buy used stuff where you are? Ya know, like a Goodwill store or a pawn shop? Those might be places to look if you really want a "click" keyboard. If you're a halfway decent touch typist, then there's no beating these keyboards.
Good luck.

There seems to be two types of click keyboard:
1. The old IBM type. They weigh a ton and are built like a brick ****-house. The click is quite heavy.
2. The light click, light touch keyboards, which is what I prefer.
Thanks,
Jon

Sound a bit like the cherry soft touch keyboard. I have one at work and one at home and reckon that htey are pretty good. Easy to get a decent typing rate and solidly built. Would recommend it to anyone.
