Norton Disk Doctor Question Please

I have a 3 1/4 disk with some files that I would like to recover. I say recover because the computer suddendly tells me that the disk is not formated. Does anyone think Norton Disk Doctor would be able to help me get these files back. I am willing to go out and buy it if I think there is a snowball chance it would help. I have not seen anyone using the program for several years.

I wouldn't bother. Get a genuine DOS prompt, and see if you can access the files that way, not through windows. Try the disk in other computers through DOS as well. Try a thourough scandisk on it.
