I'm a little bit confused. Do you mean you copied the Win98 CD to another CD and now the CD drive has the Windows icon? Is the icon always there regardless of what CD is in the drive?
There's a file CDs have in the root directory called Autorun.inf that tells Windows what to do when the CD is inserted. Inside this file is a line that says icon= and the name of the icon file which is displayed when the CD is inserted. If I understood you correctly, the icon got "stuck there" and never goes away.
Here's what I would try. The name/path of the icon is stored in the registry at the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AutoRun\4\Defa ultIcon
The 4 after Autorun is the sequential number of the drive (i.e. A:=0, c:=2, d:=3, etc.). Find the one you want to get rid of and delete the value of the key. Of course you'll want to BACK UP THE REGISTRY FIRST!
If I misunderstood you, or if this doesn't work, post back and we can try again.
Good luck http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

OK, I understand now. Just find the autorun.inf file on the C: drive and delete it, or open the file and delete the line that says icon=.
