Hello everybody,
after reading posts night and day I (total beginner)was finally able to build my new system from the scratch.
THANKS TO YOU ALL IN THE SYSOPT COMMUNITY.
It is very nice to see how helpfull this community can be, especially to beginners who sometimes need a little kick in the a..dvice!
ITs a real success and everything works fine, never had a blue screen nor some other problems. And your support to my configuring questions has been always helpfull.

yes i could, now that i know the basics lets move on and build something faster, still watching the cpu prices, i have my next project in my mind, believing in the athlon power ever, but since the prices dropped so tremendously, i've got to have one of those thunderbirds 1 ghz .
any suggestions for a nice board to give it a home?

I'd recommend the Abit KT7. I've got one and it's rock stable.What's the new system for?

I don't know, basically I run photoshop and little graphic stuff. It just was so much fun all the process of comparing and mapping out my project and finally put it together that I just want to start again. Maybe it will function as a server sometimes.
