ok. i been trying to get this to work for 2 days and its pissin me off to no avail.

windows 98SE
outlook express 5.5
using POP and SMTP for mail.

i have a roadrunner email account. at my office i set up outlook express on my pc and set up my account. i can receive email no problem. but i can not send out mail to anyone. i am behind a firewall, but i know that this i not an issue because i disconnected from my network and dialed up to an ISP. it still didnt work. i removed the account and re set it up. didnt work.
i removed outlook express and reinstalled it. didnt work.
i completely re installed windows.
didnt work. i also checked microsoft technet online. no help there.
i am at my wits end. please help.

here is a copy of the error message.

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '<someone@microsoft.com>'. Subject: '<Test>', Account: '<Test>', Server: '<smtp.microsoft.com>', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 <someone@microsoft.com>... Relaying Denied', Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Please, no multiple posting. It's confusing and frustrating to those trying to help, and a troubleshooting path is nearly impossible with more than one thread.

Thanks!
