Post the correct answer if you come up with it. Here you go:
LTUO WXQ WLGY VDINZS THL RBKPI?

Punctuation is NOT part of the puzzle. Only the LETTERS. Numbers don't count either.

well, obviously nouaz=daffy and its not a single letter replacement code (like the old "Orphan Annie Decoder Rings").
Got any hints for us?

Well I don't want to give it away, but
Each letter in the Crypto Puzzle represents exactly one letter in the final answer.
The alphabet itself is the key.
Yzflk=Daffy is enough to break the code.(That's why I signed it like that! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif)

Each letter in the Crypto Puzzle represents exactly one letter in the final answer.

Already looked at it. Man I was a lot easier on you than you were on me. Looks like someone's already well on their way to translating it anyway from what I read there. Now it seems to just be a matter of time.

P.S. Figure it out yet?

No clue yet, although I don't want to think right now... tomorrow!
I don't think they are close to breaking this code/language in the manuscript.
Also I find it strange there is no single file to download the whole manuscript!
Also I couldn't find a transcription of it (even if the letters look totally different...) Either the links are broken or there are only a few pictures.

I'll go on a search of my own for it...we'll see what we can come up with together. With all the O/C'ed CPU's around here we should be able to crack this bad boy in no time. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Followup:
I've located this person who has the text in some sort of Voyich alphabet to English alphabet form online:
http://www.dcc.unicamp.br/~stolfi/EXPORT/projects/voynich/Notes/015/pages-html/
Hopefully that'll get the ball rolling.

Each letter DOES represent just ONE letter in the final answer. That doesn't mean that each letter represents the same letter in the final answer whenever it occurs. It means that the number of letters in the crypto puzzle is the same as the number of letters in the final answer.
Secondly, you'll notice the puzzle has changed a bit. I accidentally misspelled. This would not have prevented anyone from solving the puzzle. However for those of you who saw the original misspelled version, you now have a REALLY big clue to solving the encryption..A REALLY big clue. To those of you who never saw the misspelled version, you hadn't spent any time on it, so you don;t get that REALLY big clue! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
MY apologies for the error. Once again, it should NOT have affected your ability to solve the puzzle.

Why don't YOU try to break a code?
Try this one for example: http://www.fireplug.net/~rshand/restricted/streams/scripts/voynich.html
This is after all "the Worlds most mysterious manuscript!!" and "apparently there has never been a decipherment of a document in which the method of encoding and the original language were both unknown. This is exactly the case with the Voynich Manuscript! "
Good luck...

It's been many many years, but I used to bust these things for a living. The frequency distribution of the letters is fairly flat, although we only have a short sample of the cipher text. This would lead me to believe that it is probably some sort of polyalphabetic code, perhaps based on a keyword. Again, however, a short sample can be deceiving. I've been out of practice with these things for about 15 years - but I'll keep trying.

hey daff,
I believe that I have the code, however, what I'm using also leads me to believe that what u have written isn't exactly right... please check once more...
thanks

ok ok, nevermind about the previous posts' question... I got that to (duh!)
I have to give credit where it lies though.... I figured out how to get every letter except for the first letter in each word. then I figured out what letter had to preceed the first letter in each word to produce the desired letter. here's where I was stumped (staring at my piece of scratch paper)... it wasn't until I was sitting there and said alout "jeez, I need this to preceed that in order to get what I want..." to which my little bro who just looked over my shoulder said... "look, this does preceed that... it's just the last letter in the previous word!"... so there you go!
-Z
btw- I was thinking about it some more, and I'm pretty **** sure that there is a mistake in the puzzle...
did u get this out of a book daff?? because the way that I solve it, every letter starting with the letter B should actually be 2 letters after B... so the work RBKPI should actually be RDMRK and so on. take a look, because I'm pretty **** sure that I'm right
thanks for the puzzle!

That is the correct answer Z!!!
The code consists of the alphabet in a loop.
ABCEDFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ -> ABCDEFG...etc.
For each letter in the code, look at the previous letter in the message. In this case the W in WHAT is preceded by the O in GO.
So we start counting at P(the letter after O) until we have counted W number of letters of the alphabet. This landed us on L. Next letter is H we start on M (which is the first letter after L)We count H number of letters. That puts us on T. And so on.
Knowing that it was signed Daffy was enough to break the code. Good job Z!!
