Hi All

I've have this Dell PII notebook that really gets hot after a while. IS there a way to manually force the built in fan to run. Possibly some special software. TIA

It doesn't auto run all the time? You could open it up and manualy splice it into the PS.

I had a Toshiba notebook that used a fan. You could turn it on by adding 'fan on' to the autoexecbat file. There was a small executable that resided in the root. You might contact Dell and see if they have some thing available or search their website for help on the subject.

Thanks.. Just as a follow up, I found that be elevating the bottom of the notbook a little bit helps the air circulation. I've stuck two small rubber pads on the top back portion. It does feel a little bit cooler. I also came across this product called a "coolpad" that does something similiar to that..Havent tried it though.
