I currently own a original Unreal Tournament CD and want to make a backup copy of it. I'm new to CD burning and have burn some CDs without protection before, but I don't know how to overcome the protection etc. So how do I burn Disc 1- Game for UT?? Which programs do you need? I currently have Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 and Nero5... which was is better out of the two? Any help would be appreciated.

Go into CDCopier in CD creator, that should put an image of the game on your hard drive and copy the game from the image after you insert a blank CD.

i have never had a problem with backing up games with nero. if it doesn't like the cd copy function, i directly copy the original media to the hard drive (often i cannot copy the autorun.exe or autorun.inf) and then burn from the hard drive.

Also at www.elaborate-bytes.com (http://www.elaborate-bytes.com) they have a program called clone-cd. If your burner supports RAW writing, you can use it and it will backup anything.

I had to copy (Windows/DOS copy, not Nero "make image" copy) the entire CD onto my HD and then burn it from there. Nero wouldn't make the image file for me. Eh, this way, I burned the no CD crack on there too http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I have the same problem with Half Life. The cd-r reports the half life cd-rom to be about 2gb and so won't copy it to a 74min/650mb or 80min/700mb cd. I've been told its the sierra programming that does this. Is there anyway around this?????

Hey Dave, how would I know if my CD-RW can do raw writing? I went to the website, and there doesn't seem to be much information.

For Clone cd you also need a CD or DVD drive that will read in RAW mode as well as a writer that will write it.

Oh hey, there's the list!

Well, I have a Memorex CD-RW 1622 and a Toshiba SD-1202 DVD. It says that the toshiba is good for reading, but that the Memorex doesn't write the CD text or the CD+G. Is that a problem?

If your writer is not on the list as being able to write in RAW mode then CloneCD will not work.
