I'm certainly no advocate of Napster (or any other music sharing service), but raiding the homes of potential offenders isn't my idea of fair either. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

I work with the local Police on some pollution issues.
I support the Police, BUT,,,
One thing that gripes my ****, they go after the easy kill..
Here they spend millions going after Smoke growers because they are "Easy"
The military flies over taking IR pics, these highlight "problem" areas and ground troops go in for the seizure.
NO ONE has ever killed because they did not get another toke, but we've had mass murders cause someone didn't get some more coke/smack/crank etc..
But Nooo, they don't go after these guys, they Shoot back, it's much too dangerous.
So they just put the media on the growers and the idiots who speed with contraband in the car and they(cops)stumble across it.
At one house the morons didn't notice a kilo of meth being used to prop open the door, never did find it.. No dogs at this raid.
We bury kids weekly from Hard drugs and the enforcement folks ignore the real problems, they are more worried about "leader" drugs.
Napster
This is a fine example of an easy bust.
I'm sure there is more for the cops to do than to worry about some Chicken ***** crime like that. Noo the easy prey is what those whips are after..

DrVette, you've got it 100% right! There's an area in the U.P. of Michigan (Garden Peninsula) were they've been harvesting some fine stuff for 30+ years. Local/state/Feds have tried several times over the years to put a stop to it, but have had little success. They've suffered a large loss of manpower, vehicles, and aircraft (including National Guard) to the locals and finally gave up! Occasionally, they'll get lucky and stop an outbound shipment, but that's it! They just don't care for those strange buzzing and whizzing sounds going by there heads http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif I've got a neighbor here in Missouri that retired from the Army about 8 years ago, hasn't worked since. Spends 30-40K a year "fixing up his yard" transports **** from the big city back here to "Nowhere" Locals and Feds know about it, but ignore it! One day http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif...

I'm not worried. Irish cops can't fight crime if it comes up and hits them in the face.
So me and my friend are standing off a street, both pissed and smoking cigs. Cops come over. Ask where we're from. Ask how old we are. Leave. My friend was so pissed he actually asked if they wanted to take the cigs. They said they didn't smoke.
I'd like to see them look for evidence of music pirating.... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

as far as this subject is concerned, put yourself in the shoes of the artists: work your tail off to have your work spread all over for free.

Those Belgian cops are criminals! I remember we got a ticket from them a few times just because we are Dutch. Ok, my father drove 5mph too fast, but so were 5 million other (Belgian) people. The politicians there are all corrupt. And they come up with the most absurd laws.
We Dutch always make jokes about how stupid Belgians are, but I think they really are.
