Today's news reports that Slick Willie is about to sign a lease on:

6000 sq.ft. overlooking Central Park ~ $165,000/yr.

Why not? He's not paying for it, WE ARE!

Edit

OOPS! TYPO! $665,000 / 8500 sq.ft. !!

Actually that would be fairly reasonable. However, good ol' Bill wants to spend over $650K/year! Yow! Must be a nice office!

Ok, unless public pressure made him switch (doubtful for a man with no shame), he is getting a 8900 sqft office, the entire 56th floor of the Carnegis Tower for a mere $650,000/year. I already wrote my senators and representative asking for a cap on such flagrant abuses of the American People.

Presidential offices are used to run their speaking tours, charitable endeavors and public service efforts. Jimmy Carter actually did some good with his, supporting different peace talks and organizations like Habitat for Humanity. Clinton will use his to bleed money from the public, have orgies and further soil the traditionally noble post of Former President.

has any one figured out what they are going to cost us? $700K for his office, what else does he cost us? Hillary, rent for the space for the Secret Service in her house? how many offices etc> what else. maybe it would have been cheaper to have kept them another 4 years. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

His office is costing twice what Reagan's office does, and more than ALL other previous presidents combined.

Shameless. He's out of office and still manages to screw us over.

Regardless of who the ex-pres is, or our feelings about him, here's what I don't get:
Why on earth are we funding their expense??

He is no longer our employee!

Why should anyone continue to be funded after the employment has ended???

Unemployment compensation, possibly a pension at retirement age, but that's it.

I just read in U.S. News & World Report that it is costing $10,000 per day to fix the phones.

Each phone has a serial number that corresponds with the jack. Normally, putting the phones back would've been easy, but the aides scratched off the serial numbers.

Where does this money come from? Is there some special fund? They could be using this money to fix inner city schools or something like that http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
