LOL Anyone that can fix my eyes will be greatly apreciated. I pulled out my DVD played and the laser... JUST KIDDING..LOL How many remember that one?

ACTUALLY I DO have a serious question.
A lady I spoke with this week has a hard contact that she wears at night that shapes her eye to the point where she does not have to have vision correction during the day. her eyes were 20/400...nmine are 20/200 so... Anyone have any idea what this new technology is called?

Thanks
Dave

Yeah, but those were glass lenses, right? I heard that you hardly feel those plastic-I_dunno_what_material_it_is lenses.

Glad I don't need glasses myself.

Whats pretty cool is the new laser jobs they do, had a friend complaining his glasses cost 500$ apair...(multiple coatings, progressive tri's, titanium frames etc) + he needs 2 maybe 3 pairs, (he is a welder by profession) had the 15 min laser surgery @ 1500$, has better then 20/20 vision now and no glasses...

Wow. Some of you are really uninformed. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

My mom had an appointment for laser eye surgery last summer, but she cancelled a week before when they released a study saying that laser eye surgery can impair (sometimes severely) your dark/night vision abilities on a long term basis.

brandon.. perhaps there is a less offensive way of saying that... I'm also not sure that that information is entirely correct. I was planning on having that surgery done this spring (until I wrecked both cars and am now broke), and there are several different types of surgery. All of which have different success rates and target users.

daveleau... look into the corrective eye surgery. Based on those that I know who have had it done, they absolutely swear by it. someday... maybe during grad school, I'll be able to afford it. I get tired of my glasses, and contacts are a major pain in the ***!

This was hopefully an alternative to the surgery. I know that the longterm effects of the surgery are unknown and there have been fowlups. Many people see halos at night and have no vision up close and have to have reading glasses. I was hoping this would help. Supposedly you only wear the hard contacts at night and wear nothing during the day... That does sound appealing as long as my eyes don't water b/c of sunlight....not too good.

Thanks

Hehe, I'm reading this using a gateway 17" monitor at the minute. Boy I wish I could get a contact lens for this screen. Do they come that big?
My lamps are ok, this thing is just hard on them.

All the best, Justy.
