Is there any way to turn down the "click" sounds like minimize/maximize without turning everything down. What I mean is I turn my speakers up to listen to music, (player volume is maxed out). Then I close out a program or something, and the windows sound is really loud.

Sorry, I can't help, but I also would be interested to find out if there was a way.

Control Panel - Sounds. See the speaker icons? Those are sounds associated with actions. Click on a line with a speaker icon, go below to the drop down menu under Sound - Name and select none. Do that for each sound you dont want to hear. I believe they are either on or off, nothing in between. But I'm sure you knew where the sounds were located.

Yeah, I suppose that would work http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. But was really looking for a way to temporarily turn it down. I guess I could do that method http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.
The trouble comes when I'm blasting my 15" woofers while on the comp and all of the sudden - CLICK - it scares the poop out of me.

Warty, of course you can disable sounds for those events in Control Panel. You could also edit the associated sounds in Sound Recorder -- reduce their volume & resave them.

You could also try adjusting the different media-type volumes in Volume Control (say midi vs wav). But I've found this program to be somewhat buggy, and often getting what you want in one volume screws up something else.

Hmm I never thought of that. I'll give it a try.
