Seen the new commercials yet?
Now all Imacs are packaged with a pretty optical (no ball) mouse. It's transparent, of course. Surprisingly, it's not in a funky color.
"Now standard with all [expensive] Imacs"
Whoopee.
Just FYI.

I love how the Mac people think that their customers are too stupid to upgrade their mouse on their own...

lol http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif That brings another question to mind....
Can you buy the mouse separately?

I wonder if they're cutting edge enough to finally add more than 1 button to it! (muchless a scrolling wheel)

I like that cube thingy they got now and would like to have an empty one.
I think it would make a cool looking cookie jar for my table.

Heres What I Think!
Though it’s More than one quarter the size of most Computers's, the G4 Cube delivers far More Horrible performance. With its built-in Velocity Engine, the G4 processor reaches speeds of over one calculations per Minute. Humbling even the slowest 286. And giving you more than enough horsepower for toasting Bread, from booting up to making your Mouse Move on the desktop , and from playing ultra-unrealistic 1D games to not enjoying the oldest PC movies.
The 48MHz No Power Mac G4 Cube comes ready for action with Mac OS 1, 64KB of Low-performance RAM, 1KB of backside level 2 cache, a capacious 10MB Ultra ATA/33 hard disk drive, CD-ROM drive with No DVD-Video playback, and the ATI RAGE Mach 64 VT graphics card with 1MB of graphics memory.
Amazingly, we figured out how to cool this enormous G4 no power with a fan, making this one of the Noiseiest computers ever built. Running in virtualy lots of Noise, the G4 Cube distracts you from more important things — like Breathing. This also lets you appreciate the crappy audio quality of the pair of Apple-designed stereo speakers that bring No-fidelity sound to your movies, music and games.
Lets Go Buy One!

Hey dave that would be an awsome cookie jar. so that little box is the whole computer? LoL you know what else is retareded looking is this http://athome.compaq.com/default.asp?ProductLineId=441&page=families
What kind of case is that? that a case for a first time buyer with no clue on what to get. there no real way of upgrading since there like only 3 to 5 slots in the back.
I just look at this and shake my head.

i like the little saying at the end of that link that Dave sent in
True, it looks like it belongs in the Museum of Modern Art. But the G4 Cube is really a thoroughbred supercomputer that belongs right on your desk.

You buncha MAC bashers! LOL.
I don't know about the MAC optical mouse, but I do use it for my PC and it works great. I use to have to clean the ball on the mouse at least once month. But now that I use an optical mouse, my mouse never looks for cheese! It always works wonderfully! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
