Anyone else getting socked in by this snow? We have got about 8" of fine powder right now with 6-8" on the way yet. Oh ya.... winds are supposed to crank up to 25-35 MPH tonight to get it all drifting around. My first exam isn't until Wednesday, but I feel for the people who have them tomorrow. Especially those students who live off campus like I do.

UNFOURTUNATELY...
Here we are experiencing some ridge caused by the arctic, which is dropping our temperature UNBELIEVABLY.
The average is like - 30 celcius.
The windchill is like -50 celcius, which is around -62 celcius. I had to go do some stuff outside today, and when you walk outside your breathe is just taken away from you. Unbelievable cold.
Thank god for garages!

I'm cold at 45*F. That's somewhat chilly for Los Angeles.
Don't kill me guys. I'm originally from the NorthEast.. so I can empathize.
Brrrr... I hope all of you in the MidWest stay warm:

Man, we got close to 8 inches of snow...then it started to freezing rain and then it snowed again and now it's raining again! My poor car is entombed in snow/ice/snow and ice!!! The roads are like ice rinks and the street plows just can't keep up. :/ Yeah, I feel bad for the people that have to come in from the county(roads there don't ever get plowed http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif ) to write their exams this week...

I love this stuff. There was actually THUNDER and LIGHTNING tonight during one of the heightened moments of snowfall!!! It was pretty awesome. Right now we will have about 14"-20" total. Extensive blowing and drifting. Right now the university is staying open. They have only closed 4 times in 150 years. Last time was '78.

woke up this morning to study for a final... shoveled the walk, noticed the water pressure was low, looked out back to see a pipe spewing water all over the yard... had to shut off the irrigation line (thank goodness not the main line)...
and you why???... it's ****-***** cold...

I just finished shoveling two flippin feet of snow from my driveway, it's -15C with a 45mph wind(feels like -35C). If I didn't ski I'd go nuts.

Well, I'm stuck at home because of the drifts in my parking lot. The plow hasn't come yet. Wondering what all my rent check goes to again. Worse yet, the storm has knocked out my cable modem. I'm stuck with an old dialup connection that was provided free to me from the university I used to attend.

I spend hour and a half digging out my car.....Start to head down the alley. The alley has been driven but not plowed. It is marginal at best. So I am moving at a creep down the alley tires churning when all of a sudden as I near the end........ **** plow comes by and buries the beginning of the alley. So I had to stop which resulted in being stuck.....ever try to push your car backwards while driving it at the same time. good fun!! I do love this stuff though.
Two pulled muscles and 20 minutes later I get my car back to my place and spend the next ten minutes deciding if I really want to shovel some more (I had already showered and gotten ready for school and all) So I grab my boots, and shovel and bundle back up and all... head down to the alley. I tear into it when these two delinquent kids from next door show with shovels. They proceed to stand there and watch. Finally one of em asks "Are ya trying to get out?" I reply "No, I needed my exercise?" After about 5 minutes more of watching me shovel they join in. I liked the help but 5 minutes after that one of them managed to crack me across the back of my head with their shovel handle. Little ijits.
Anyway... 2.5 hours of labor later I am here on campus. oh ya.... my bike.... I had it locked to a signpost at the commuter lot. Well it is now under a enormous mountain of snow. I needed a new one anyway =)

LOL! Gutter Ball, Mr. Goodbytes and Gomer glad I'm not the only one, I had to shovel again (that 45MPH wind dumped another foot in the driveway). brandon184 thats too cold. Toadman, socalgal wish I was down there having a few Corona's(ever been to that restaurant with the great patio-right on the bay-in Marina Del Ray?).

Wow, what nostalgic memories about snowplows re-interring, the shoveling out of cars, scraping windshields and skidding on ice!
I think I'm glad I'm only "dreaming" of a white Christmas! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I prefer going to the snow rather than having it come upon me.
I empathize with all you buried ones, take care out there!
Sure have, canit, but which one? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
