Okay this is the deal. I would like our future product pictures for our web site to look like they don't have a background. You know when the pictures look like they were photographed on the white background of the web site. Hows is this done? We're going to be selling shirts and other things and I want the pics to look like they are "floating" over the white background of the site. Understand? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NDC: Yes thats what I was talking about. Actually both images is what I was talking about. I just dont want the t-shirts to look like theyre laying on the floor. Thanks so much for the info!

CK42866: I got the name from my former employer, the US Army. It was my job title (MOS).

Even better still is use a transparent background when you copy your pic across after you cut around it.It gives you the option when you choose:"new page".
From there you simply export it as gif file and you instantly have no background at all.
Good luck with your site!
Have a look at the first site I ever did and click the link button to "Karah" (that was my dog)You will see what I mean by transparent,I also did a fixed background. That way the pic will scroll up and down and the background stays put.
Right mouse click on the page and select veiw souce and you will see how it is done.

Use Photoshop. Be sure to take the photographs of the T-shirts on a color that is completely different from the shirt color. That will make things much easier when you use the magic wand in Photoshop to make the selections to delete (magic wand selects colors that are almost alike, having the same background as the T-shirt will make inacurate selections, which make image manipulation a living hell). After the background has been deleted, make a copy of the T-shirt onto a new layer and then paint the new layer ALL black and add the Gaussian blur value to 8.0 and move the blurred image behind the layer of the T-shirt and offset it just a bit, and you will have a very realistic shadow on the back of the shirt which will make the image look as if the T-Shirts are floating above the background of the web page.

Yeah, you guessed it.

What happened with the PA program? You working as one now? Good deal though no matter how you look at it.

Anyway, worked in the ER at BAMC from 97-99. And then I got that famous nasty gram sending me to USAREC.

Looking forward to leaving USAREC and working in a hospital again. Oh yeah, you may not care anymore but you hear about the upcoming merger of the 91B and 91C MOS's? IMO it sucks.

That merger is changing things as we speak. Not to sure what I am going to do but probably looking to either change MOS's or trying to stick it out and test the waters for a while. Either way I am obligated to USAREC for now.

Anyway, you stumbled across some valuable information here at sysopt. You putting up a web page or something?

CK-
The Army is doing it again, huh? Thats how I became a Bravo. I signed up as 91U (ENT),
but in '94 they converted some of the specialty MOS's to Bravos with skill identifiers. I was a 91BP2. Can you imagine going back to AIT as an NCO? Thats what I had to do. The only good thing about it was my Drill was a guy I was stationed with in Germany. And plus being an NCO they didnt mess with too much, more for show than anything.

To answer your question, yes I'll be attempting to create a site for my sisters future business. Just gathering all the info I can now. Well good luck with USAREC. A buddy of mine is doing it in El
Paso and he says its alot of work and long hours. I can only imagine.............

You can also use Image Composer that comes with Frontpage98 and its way cheaper than Photoshop and easier to use! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
