I'm considering replacing a 250w power supply in my system with a 300w model. Not having any problems, but just feeling like upgrading. I can buy an inexpensive 300w PS for around $35 locally, as a matter of fact, already bought one and installed it in my Son's machine a few months ago and it seems to get the job done. My question concerns these higher dollar PS with redundant cooling and suposedly better components. They seem to command around twice the price of the cheaper one and I'm wondering if they are actually worth the expense. I don't mind spending the extra cash, since it's not a lot, but don't really relish just wasting money just for the sake of spending it. Any opinions on the value here? Also, with the redundant cooling, do you think I would see any better case ventilation? Thanks http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Don't think I've ever seen anyone upgrade a power supply just for the sake of it. Isn't there something else you don't have but might actually use? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I'm no expert, but unless you were doing some overclocking, I don't think you'd really need it.

Go to antec-inc.com
They have thermal fans in their power supplies.
I have a 250watt antec ps, works great but not enough juice to run everything thats in my system.
