My father actually built it, and he handed it down to him http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

It was about 35 grand total, including the original purchase of the car, which was 14.8 grand http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

*taking a note:"no Jetta for me..."*

It's a cool car,but I could think of cars that I find cooler than this one for this price.Your whole family is really fond of VW,isn't it?Btw, 'Volkswagen' means 'car for the people'.In this case I say it isn't http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif .

Btw,is your brother gonna race with it?Otherwise all those modifications are just wasted money. What would you want with a car probably doing over 120mph,if you're only allowed to drive 60?

Here in the Netherlands you lose your car and license if you're caught driving that speed. But I will loose my moped if I ever get caught with it,too. But that thing only costs a few 100 bucks.Wouldn't risk it with an expensive car.Hehe..I'm one big violation when I'm riding my moped.I hate the cops in their stupid vans. The police here really likes to confiscate everything http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif .

You want a real car? Go buy a 2.8litre Ford Capri! That's a class car - think of what you could tweak out of the 2.8....

MTP, Nize Ride.
German cars ride so much better than Rice Soup machines it ain't even funny.

In 72, a dude had a Datsun 510 BRE like mine cept his 1.8l engine had 30 Pounds of Boost.
Imagine that, my puny 145 hp machine would smoke the tires in three gears (mainly due to stiff suspension)

But,,, WARNING,, Don't try any 150+ mph stuff in that Box, the aerodynamics are not what you want to test on the street.

A sudden change in wind direction and the shiny side that's supposed to be up, may change position with the rubber side that's supposed to be down.. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Still, Nize Car

Hey, Alpha, in 75, my g/f Beth,, grrrr (a REAL Ms America) had a 71 Capri 2.8, yowie, what a rocket ship. Solid lifter cam, redline at 5g, but 7500 was noooo problem.

that is a somewhat nice car.. but I have to stick to my cars...

had a 97 SS Camaro... and now I have 99 Dodge Intrepid ES... (family car).. but when I get done with it.. I wantt to drop a Corvette ZR1 Engine in it and make it from front wheel drive to all wheel drive... the reason behind doing this.. is that I miss the speed of my SS... and I love the luxury and everything that comes packaged in my dodge what to do.. what to do!!! ****

The real problem with high performance cars is the TIME you can enjoy the power.

In the OLD days when we THOUGHT cars were fast(14.5 qtr mile/100mph)
you could stand on the gas and smoke tires and spin sideways and have a good ole redneck time.

Today, say in my stock "90 Vette, a pass from 45 mph yields 110 mph by the time you clear the car in front..

You only have a very few seconds to enjoy the "g" forces cause the grip and acceleration propels the car TOO DAM fast and REAL quickly..

Rrrr, bamm and WHOAAA Nellie,, slow down..

Seems as if it takes longer to slow these monsters today than it takes to get um going fast..
