Many "experts" think China's going to be the next superpower. They're beginning to get cocky, & look for the next big world crisis coming from there when they go after Taiwan. And they might not stop there.

Yeah, a Chinese armada sailing for the US to land a billion soldiers on our soil could be a real problem except for three things:

1) Their total lack of seaworthy ships to launch such a force.

2) The size of the Pacific Ocean

3) The US Navy.

Can we say target practice? You'd be able to walk across the ocean on the hulks of blasted troop transports.

The truth is, China has no intention of launching a nuclear strike at the US, and nor would any other 'civilized' state. While China is capable of severely damaging the US, the US is capable of removing China from the map.

I'm not saying its the right thing to do--but it is possible. M.A.D. is no longer in affect--more like R.A.D. (Retaliatory Assured Destruction).

I don't understand that either, Warthog. Why don't they just work on their OWN missile defense?! Besides, they'll 'obtain' our tech blueprints soon enough anyways...(just as we would their's http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif )

Defense systems don't start wars, they save lives.

This is sort of scary. Probably the next cold war, regardless. Their military is huge and arsenal is deep, but its the selfish power hungry govt that's the most frightening, as seen in the positions they took in Tia. Square, HK, and recent student protests (even though they softened FOR NOW on HK).
