Next debate pay close attention to the lighting ,makeup ,camera shots are the speakers cut off before they finish,do they keep changing cameras causing the speaker to loose eye contact. these are all things a director can do to make one look bad. If the back lighting is too far forward as it was on Bush it makes his suit look cheap and wrinkled,also makes his jowls and wattles more prominent.I don'tknow anything about makeup just that it was lousy for both. you should never have one speaker in the background shot of another speaker and the mike should be turned down.You kids that are still in college ask your media arts instructors about the physical presentation of the last debate. Next time they should get a professional studio like Oprah winfrees[sp] Harpo productions the have the expertise and experience to put on a 3 person talk show which the debate is. I realise it was a PBS production but they are still supposed to be pros. jmho barry

Very interesting points.

I did see where the split screen shots of GWB and AG were not centered, favoring Gore by 9%, that was easy to pick up once it was shown to me.

The problem is that these people know what they are doing, and did that on purpose. Thats what bugs me.

I think the media should have absolutely NO political bias, as the oath they take to be reporters and such dictates, but that does not mean much today, other than a technicality to get a degree.

Hey Barry: What can the director do to make them look good??????? That's my question!!!
I believe we're hard pressed for a candidate in this election. Flip a coin, consult your Quiji board??? Play blind man's bluff in the voting booth???? I'm sure there are alot of folks that feel this way. Maybe two falls out of three. But to be honest, guess I'll have to stick with the Democrats and pray!!

This one will be a bloodfest. The Bush league attacks are working in the polls. Gore has no choice other than responding in like fashion and going on the attack. Blood and Gore is what I'm voting for.

I would like to see them both hooked to a lie detector that was displayed to the audience as they were speaking. barry

It would be more interetintg to hook the lie detector to a "Meggar". A device for checking insulation of electrical wirng that puts out high voltage with low amperage. When they lied. , an electrical charge would make them jump and give away their untruthfulness !!!
