I just got back from a little vacation to South Dakota. I went to the Black Hills... I saw some of the most awesome scenery I've ever seen before.
They have special routes on which you can go on a "scenic drive".. WOW! All the nature was so tame, despite that people in the area have killed off a lot of the wildlife over time. Squirrels would climb right into your hand which is something that I'm not used to living near a city.
There were little stopoffs on which you could look over the canyon and see so far you had trouble even thinking about how far you could see. I live in Saskatchewan (an extremely FLAT place) and even *I* was blown away.
Went and saw Mount Rushmore... And no, their butts don't stick out the other side of the mountain.
I saw some buffalo lounging by the roads, and also some deer both ON the road and off the road...
I took quite a few pictures, so I'll be sure to scan some in, once I get them developed.
