Just curious, does anyone ever use the Windows option to switch the mouse buttons from L to R because they're left-handed? I consider it to be a bit excessive, even pointless. I have yet to meet a person who uses this feature. Any sysopters out there proud to be lefties? Don't be shy! ;-)

I have observed from watching court tv that most atorneys there are left handed. barry

I wonder if this is a right-brain thing to be successful with the BAR.

I am left-handed,and I don't use the buttonswitch thing. It is useless and piontless.btw,I can perfectly use my mouse with my right hand, too! It's so handy, when my left hand is tired,I just switch the mouse to my other hand.I first learned to use a mouse with my right hand, because I didn't have my own computer yet,and most computers have the mouse on the right side of the keyboard. When I had my own computer,I learned automatically to use it with my left hand. It's a big advantage!

I guess the reason that Windows has that stupid option,is not to insult the lefties.
Can you imagine,a whole bunch of lefties marching in front of (one of) Bill Gates house demanding support for lefthand control for the mouse?I think that could have happened...

I'm a lefty and have been using the mouse right-handed since day one. Guess I had never really thought about it - even went and got an Intellimouse Explorer, which is shaped for the right hand. LOL! Just tried it and it feels strange to use the mouse left-handed....

I'm a lefty, and depending on the setup, have used the rat w/right or left hand. But I never changed the button setup. Sometimes when my right hand falls asleep, I'll use my left even w/the rat on the right side of the keyboard.

I'm a lefty, and I use my right hand for mouse so I can write at the same time if needed.

I'm a lefty too, but unlike these other so-called "lefties", I haven't caved to the right-hand establishment. I use my mouse with my left hand and my left hand ONLY. (However I do not switch the buttons, I just use my 2nd or my ring finger as the primary clicker.)

At least MS has given some thought (however little it might me) to us lefties. ABSOLUTELY NONE of the mouse manufacturers give us the same courtesy. Logitech used to make left-handed mice but haven't for a number of years now.

All the "cool" mice are right-hand specific. If you're a lefty you are forced to use a symmetrical, usually generic mouse...what a crock! I can hear my fellow lefties now, "just use it with your right hand, it's easy"...NO. I refuse to give in to "the man". FIGHT THE POWER.

I'm a righty, but 2 of my 4 kids are left handed. They both use the mouse with their right hands and I'm sure they don't have any idea that you can switch the mouse buttons.

I do have a neat little program (read: prank) that will switch the mouse buttons at random time intervals. It can be pretty amusing. I did it to someone and later that day they complained that the mouse wasn't working right. Of course when I got there to help them it had switched back and was OK.

I am a lefty, and I have used the button swap feature http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif but thats only because the left mouse button broke and I couldn't get a new one for a week due to a bus strike. So as the features of the right mouse button are less important than the left I swapped em.
On the topic has anyone ever used mouse keys, that amazing piece of software for disabled people that is harder to use than a mouse????

I have to agree with Outpatient that all the mouses that are perfectly shaped for your hand, are always shaped for the right hand.I would never buy a mouse like that.Although a can perfectly use the mouse with my right hand,I rather use my left.

I have a standard Logitech Pilot mouse, and I use my forefinger to click the left button, what might seems strange, but the mouse feels a lot better that way!If I were a righty,I would probably use the buttonswap!
All you righties with a Logitech Pilot mouse should try it!

btw,Olivion, that mouse seems great, but isn't specially shaped for the left hand.

Believe it or not Dave, I've used mouse keys lots of times! There are some things that you just can't (or wouldn't want to) do if your mouse is broken or not working for some reason. I often have to troubleshoot PCs in various states of disrepair, and mouse keys can be a lifesaver. I have to admit though, I do feel disabled when I have to use it...

Brendan Court tv is a show of actual trials mostly live, usualy moderated by two attorneys during times when nothing is going on. It is a real eye opener to see all of the BS that goes on. You learn that the really successful lawyers are good actors as well. barry

As you can tell from my name, I'm a lefty. Have been all my life. But to be honest with you, I have never even thought about using the mouse in my left hand. It just doesn't feel right. I guess it's because that is how I was tought to use it.
