Warthog 08-05-2000, 09:30 PM What did it used to be about? I've never heard of the site. Warthog M_Six 08-05-2000, 09:36 PM I have. It WAS a great site for 56k modem info. They seem to have given up their domain name. No servers can find them. Too bad. Warthog 08-05-2000, 09:40 PM ...modem info....speed wise??? Warthog Gomer 08-05-2000, 10:04 PM It was a great site for modem tweaking, drivers, even a great message board. I am redoing a friends computer and needed a fresh driver for a Rockwell am56hcfsp modem. No such luck online. Bah! grunt 08-06-2000, 03:27 AM For 56K modem info, try 56K=unreliable http://808hi.com/56k/index.htm Gomer that is an Amquest modem and you can get the driver here: http://www.amquestmodem.com/support.htm Kruppt 08-06-2000, 09:26 PM Sign on here, They may have the driver your looking for. http://www.driverguide.com/ Gomer 08-06-2000, 10:15 PM Thanks for your help. I was more curious about 56k.com going under then anything else. As for the modem, the most recent driver I could find was middle of 99. It is based on the rockwell rlvdl5dpf/sp chipset, it is a dual chipset modem. spark25 08-07-2000, 02:13 AM You might want to keep looking here (http://members.cnx.net/reboot/modems/) every now and again for new drivers for Rockwell modems. Gomer 08-08-2000, 07:54 PM Thanks spark, That was the link I was looking for. Reboot seems to know his stuff. Darvocet 08-09-2000, 03:55 AM I just tried them and it is up now. Here is a paste from their main page. This is the NEW 56K.COM server This is the newer, faster server. We apologize for the downtime, but there was a problem with DNS. The message board is on and we've re-enabled the site seaarch feature! They are with USIT who just got bought out by Onemain/Earthlink/Mindspring and that's likely where their DNS trouble originated.
