That and a very tough plasitc housing so little kids, dogs, and soft-drinks can't hurt it. Some games have rechargable batteries in them to power a RAM chip of sorts which stores a limited amount of saved game information so you don't have to keep starting over from the beginning. The base unit houses additional RAM, a processor, an I/O chip set to connect to the controllers, and television output device that acts as both the video card and sound card. This is also in a tough plastic housing for the same reason. There's probably also an EPROM with another back-up rechargable battery that holds the basic system operating system and basic N64 gaming engine which runs the games and contains the drivers for the different components in the unit. Note - when the rechargable batteries in the games stop working - the game pack is basically junk. washe 09-06-2000, 11:56 AM Thanx pal very ilustrative!! SysOpt.com
