I know very little about building web pages and thus far the only editor I have used is Frontpage 98/2000. I know most of you frown on using it but I have yet to learn HTML or the like.

I have a "simple" question regarding it. I have a site at tripod and they are giving 50mb of space. I am wanting to be able to upload small files there for others to download. How do you do that from frontpage 2000? The only answers I have been able to come up with is to FTP it. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

I thought if you had a hyperlink to a file on your "Frontpage web" it would upload it if you use the "Publish" Utility built into Frontpage. I don't use that feature so I could be wrong.

PS: don't be ashamed of using FP. I have been doing webpages for well over 4 years now (including www.vetsoftware.com) (http://www.vetsoftware.com)) and I use it. I know html, code in html, etc...but Hell, using FP is so much EASIER and FASTER. Why take 20 minutes to draw out a complex table structure when I can just hop on FP and do it there? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

You could always use an online free drive account for file sharing.
I use FP98 and am interested in this also.

Hi All!

I never use a web publishing program to upload the ste for me, instead I use an FTP program.

Try CuteFTP or WS_FTP. Both are excellent, and I find this much easier........

Im sorry, but anyone who can honestly say any wysywig editor or code generator package (such as FP) had never undertaken any large web site project. I have had to document many failed project because our developers could not integrate ASP or VB for Apps code into HTML pages written by FP/dreamweaver etc in the time allowed. FP may do table structures...but they are nearly always bad...not to mention the excessive code use (just about everything MUST have an ID/NAME etc etc). FP/dreamweaver should be used for basic sites and basic sites only.

Just my thoughts.

Jez.
