Making an internal drive external.

I own a CD-RW drive (HP 7200i) and I heard that there is a method, actually an equipment to convert it to an external drive so that I can plug it to my laptop. Does anyone know anything about this phenomena...

Are you plugging it into the laptop's parallel port, is that it? You can probably find something at one of these sites.
