My little speaker that sits in my tray has disappeared and I have no sound!

Anyone know how I can get the little critter back?

cheers for that Andre.....got the icon back but still no sound....gonna reboot to see if it comes back.

It hasn't!....weird cos when I connect to the modem I can turn the connection sound up or down and thats it. When I click on the speaker icon to turn the sound up or down there is no 'ping' sound. Any other suggestions?

Hmmmm...sometimes it helps just to use the old brain....i'm not gonna tell you what I did wrong...it's too embarassing.

I think we are all guilty of over complicating a comp problem. I know I have spent many a day looking for a complex software fix for a simple hardware problem.

LOL Well I am certainly guilty of that, I spent a whole week once trying to fix a printer which printed but with nothing on the page! It took my little brother who was 6 to point out that the ink had probably run out and to remember when he dropped the printer and broke the LED!!!!
