firstly, please don't lock this thread because i dont have an illegal copy of winme. I am doing kinda a beta test for a friend on mine that works at a not-to-be-named company. i ran into a problem and hoped that maybe some other testers or workers that are running winMe would be able to help with. I posted once on the OS page, but no one really answered..so

I am running a AMD Athlon 650 not overclocked, on an Asus K7V mobo. Asus GeForce 6800 pure running 5.22 drivers,

Problem:
Every once in a while, more once than a while..my system won't let me shutdown. Kinda like the old Win98 Problem with AMD Athlon's, the restarting or hanging on shutdown screen. My system hangs for a couple of secs then restarts. Other times, it will shutdown properly. Told my friend, but he says at his company, they use mostly Coppermines and Intel processors (at least ones that have WinMe) So he couldn't find anyone with same problem. Please if anyone can help out. I am about to put 98se back, can't stand this until release date.

Other than that, WinMe Runs great..i have Final version distributed only to Companies. Works quickly and I like the format(closer to win 2000) more internet integrated.

tw1112, you do have an answer the OS forum. It's recommended that you keep replying to that thread to keep the troubleshooting path intact. Update the thread with your progress, what has or hasn't worked, etc., so members can eliminate what hasn't worked and can make other suggestions instead of repeating.

Multiple posting on the same topic gets confusing and frustrating for those trying to help; replying to your original thread will bump it to the top, also.

Best is to copy and paste any new info from your above post and add it to the original one here

Apps & OS's is the proper forum for this topic. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks.
