Can anyone tell me if there is a piece of software to stop incoming phone calls from knocking me off-line? This is really getting on my nerves!

There is a hardware solution.
there should be a code to dial before you connect that will disable call waiting.

But if you are online a lot you might think about getting the service turned off(best solution and saves money).

Around here, the disable call waiting is *70. You will have to check with your phone company if you do not know. But, if your dialing up, this is what the phone number should look like to disable call waiting ON THAT CALL ONLY. Once you hang up on the net, it will activate again, but just redial the same number the next time you get on and it works. Below is what it should look like.

*70, XXX-XXXX

Your modem will dial *70 then it will wait a few seconds and then dial your normal phone number. Tell me if this works in your area.

Look at the software at www.gregorybraun.com (http://www.gregorybraun.com) and see if this applies at all. I use Stay Alive 2000 to help stay connected to the Net. It may not be applicable to your problem, but worth a look?
