I'm off to Disneyland this weekend and i guess the best price for tickets are regular price at 41 bucks a pop. If it were up to me I'd go to Magic Mountain, but relatives are coming down and they have there mind set on seeing Mickey. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
When the Magic Kingdom opened 45 years ago, Admission was $1.00 and "E Coupons" for the good rides were 50 cents.
Movies and gas were less then too, I guess $41.00 is in keeping with other price increases. And you can stay all day and most of the night. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
How much do you pay for a 2 hour movie?

If your ticket purchaser is local to Disneys zipcode they allow a discount... thats pretty tough, a family of 4 is spending close to 200$

I've been to Disney Land 3 times in my life, all the way from Perth, and everytime i go to Anaheim, the tickets are way more expensive, I also spent 2 days at Notsberry Farm, and that KICKED ****, I think it's way more fun than Disney Land.
But if you have kids, then Disney Land is better of course http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Its "what the market will bear" If disney raised prices too much people would stop going. If enough folks sopped coming the price would go DOWN.

disneyland has expenses, i know that, but $41/person!?!? ****!! that's a lot! last i checked it was 38(still about $18 too much) On top of that, a burger costs like what, $8? Do these morons have any idea how much food costs IN THE REST OF THE FREAKIN COUNTRY!?!? Movie theaters are just as bad. Heck, i got my season pass at magic mountain for $49!! that's reasonable! an a souvinere bottle is like $5, with $2.50 refills! still their food is expensive, but admission is some what reasonable(nearly $10 less/person then Disney)

I agree.
But can you imagine how many people there would be there if the prices were really low? It would be terribly overcrowded.

a 2 hour wait for a 45 second ride isn't crowded? that's what my sisterinlaw had to put up with on her last trip and the most rude people she says she ever met in her life. She is from N.Y. which I think is ironic. barry
Again ... Disneyland is all day and most of the night.
HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY FOR A 2 HOUR MOVIE? And how many do you see between trips to D'land?

My brain is in a knot........
barry glisson,
perhaps I should have said that if the prices were lower the park would be even MORE overcroweded. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
Just imagine the lines.

This brings back bad memories.
In 1992, my parents dragged us to go out there in the middle of summer. The lines were long (about 45 min each attraction), the weather was blistering. Drinks back then were $1 each (soda can), and food was expensive as hell!
But at least we could say we did it once in our lives. Unless pressured, I would never go back.

Once a decade is enough to see all the new stuff they have. Other things to do with $41:
Round-trip Catalina Island trip w/snorkeling
1 all-day ski lift ticket w board/ski rental
All day paintball (food incl.)

Long lines will stop me from going on a ride - unless it is incredibly good (unlikely).

Disney now has "Fastpass" for some rides, not sure how it works but it speeds you thru the lines in some way...

...hmmmmm...I wonder how they do that. The only things that I could think of that would shorten the waiting period would be to add more seats for the rides and/or shorten the ride. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Other than that, I can't think of anything else.
