I want to get a 700MHz thunderbird and a Asus A7V mobo. I have never build a system before. How hard is it to correctly put the CPU on the mobo and put the fan on the CPU? I don't want to damage anything. Also what is the best fan to put on a thunderbird? thanks

The thunderbird useds a ZIF (Zero insertion force). You have to raise up the arm on the side of the socket first. You also have to line up the pins with the holes and once it is in you lock it down with the arm. Then spread some thermal stuff on the core and put on the heatsink like the dirrections, they can be hard to put on. Last, make sure that the heatsink touches the chip or you will kill the chip.
