Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : How do i dissable the autoexec 'set' files from showing up at boot up? steveakaflash 02-22-1999, 08:44 AM Im sure its easy for an old pro http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks! Steve bighammer 02-22-1999, 09:24 AM Start, Run, type"sysedit", hit enter, type "rem" in front of each line in the first folder that comes up, Close all folders, saving the changes you made to your auto exec.bat{it will ask you}. If your machine doesn't boot properly after, go into safe mode and remove the"rems". Easy enough once you do it once or twice. kwai 02-22-1999, 02:23 PM if he just wants the set command not to appear but still work, he doesn't want to rem out the commands -- that will disable them, while still showing them at startup. he needs to add "@echo off" at the beginning of his autoexec.bat file. bighammer 02-22-1999, 04:06 PM sorry, it must have been early and ZZZZZ I must have had a brain ****. I thought he meant to get rid of them. steveakaflash 02-22-1999, 04:17 PM Thanks guys!!!
