I am going to Kuala Lumpa and Hong Kong at the end of this year. Wondering how much things are compared to prices in Aus. Any one know which is cheaper KL or HK. Know any good shops to go to in either?
Thanks

Call up the major hotels there and ask for the concierge. Tell him you'll be visiting soon to do some shopping and site seeing. Express that you would like for him to get a price on some computer components before arriving there. ...say, like a CPU. Have him call back later or call him back. They are there to please. In Hongkong, you a can get tailored made clothes cheap. Suits, shirts, shoes, jeans... I wouldn't pass it up. If your into drugs, there is a lot of high grade heroin. The grading system is 1-4. Four being the best. Do not try bringing any back. It is not worth it. ...but the clothes are. I don't know about Malaysia but Kuala Lumpur is such an exotic sounding name. It's much cleaner then Hongkong. Nice jungles/tropical forests. When I was in Japan, to my surprise (because everything is so expensive there,) the computer components were all priced comparable to the USA. the memory products even reflected the same price fluctuations. Maybe it will be the same there. However, a larger and a more easily accessible gray market should exist. Consider customs taxes when re-entering your country. good hunting and good seeing. -B.E. Bali too!) beware in Malaysia tho as they will chop tourists heads off for as little as a doobie, (let alone a sack of China white) that would certainly add un-needed spice to your hardware buying experience http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif SysOpt.com
