Random lockups, various other intermitant problems - couldn't find anything wrong with system:

Voltage checks seemed okay except +12v was operating at 11.80v - tried a new power supply - problem solved, now operating at 12.26v

Funny thing is that I have seen other systems work fine with almsot the same voltage.

Thanks, CMonster. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Another good thing to keep in mind when all the other head-scratching doesn't work!

I have a friend who has a room full of Ham radio gear and a few computers. He added a computer that radiated interference like crazy. He tried all kinds of shielding and RF suppressors on the cables ... no help. I gave him a PS out of a dumpster computer ... problem solved.

Don't rule out the power supply.

Rebuiding a computer the other day didn't have enough 5 1/4" connectors on the PS, cut off a 3 1/3" and replaced it with 5 1/4" turned on, get sequence of beeps for wrong processor settings, thats funny I thought I didn't change them, check em anyway all is fine! Check wireing, one connection slightly dodgy, rewire everything fine.

As they say don't rule out the power supply!
