ILC Warthog 07-31-2000, 09:25 PM You should be able to burn songs directly off the cd into a variety of formats. Look at some of the options. Or you could use Winamp to do the job. Warthog brandon184 07-31-2000, 09:28 PM Hi ILC, Open RealJukebox... Select Tools -> Preferences Under the Audio Quality tab, deselect the Checkbox beside, "Secure my music files when Encoding".. I have had trouble with using it on Acer CD drives - the Beta version of the program adds a split-second blast of loud static near the end of the file that'll scare the **** out of you if you're listening to it on headphones. Anyway, the program is really nice; it can even convert pretty much any WAV file to MP3; and the encoder it uses is about the best I've ever used. Sorry about the dual posts too; accidentally clicked Submit twice. [This message has been edited by Jeff7 (edited 07-31-2000).] Techie Dude 08-01-2000, 04:25 PM Hmmm..........my Beta doesn`t do that! I have version 1.20 and it works perfect. No loud static at all! Recorded many a CD with this proggy, always perfect, always clear..... Is that a new "Feature" of the beta`s? LOL! Ummmmm......dunno if it`s freeware (if it was, I`d post a link here to the ver. I have). You could always contact me by email though! Warthog 08-01-2000, 06:46 PM Am I missing something? You want to put songs on a cd into mp3 format, right? It's very, very simple. Winamp, Music Match Jukebox and I thought, Real Jukebox could easily do that. Many of you are using other programs to do the same job. Warthog Jeff7 08-02-2000, 09:26 PM Well, that loud blast of static seems to be limited to Acer drives. I've used the program on a Digital Research CD-RW drive (OTI-Socrates drive), and a generic something-or-other 24x drive - with no static. Hopefully it's just a quirk with the Beta version of the program - my Acer 50x drive has pretty good ripping times. SysOpt.com
