Windowblinds can be a pain sometimes, but im a skin freak like that...The skin im using has a minimize to titlebar (the updown arrow thing on the title bars), and a 'always on top' tab (the little pin thing). The pin is very useful at times.

The desktop is curtousy of www.digitalblasphemy.com (http://www.digitalblasphemy.com)

My fav background is mountainsnow, from www.visualparadox.com. (http://www.visualparadox.com.) Great image, but theres....well snow, so it doesnt mesh well with my background.

Windowblinds and Iconpackager (I didnt have Iconpackager on in that one, but I do now, skins Icons for ya) curtousy of www.stardock.com (http://www.stardock.com)

Winamp skin....curtousy of who knows.

Bdog - Sevendust is one of my fav bands, if not my favorite. Trampled in the pit? Get usta it! People who go to Blink concerts and crowdsurf wear BIG boots, and one or two or fifteen of those boot's heels end up on your face somehow...Im kinda weird with my Music tastes..either real hard or real soft.
The Temp Guage is called motherboard monitor, although I dont know the website offhand. (my systems a little toasty..)

Kookstick - just drag your toolbar in the taskbar (the one usually between the Start button and the open programs - as on mine) into the far right side. Then just drag programs into it as you wish, etc. It's an easy way to have one-click access to a lot of stuff.

Gradius - dig the mp3s. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif All Star United is among my top 10 artists... here's the list (ordered):

dc Talk
FFH
Considering Lily
Sonicflood
All Star United
Avalon
Newsong
Two or More
Geoff Moore & the Distance
Michael Sweet

They're the last group on the list whose CD I would buy before hearing any of the music on it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Just did that for the new FFH CD - haven't regretted it yet. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Every song is now an mp3 (rare for most albums - I only mp3 stuff I like). Speaking of All Star United.... just popped up on my playlist right before I hit "Submit" http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Warthog - only the best. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I'm a music freak - I enjoy pop, rock, rap, ska, alternative, celtic/Irish pop/rock, instrumental rock... basically any style except metal, classical, and country. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

then rename all the files by holding alt key and typing 0160 and release alt key. in win 95 you must repeat 0160 multiplying with each file alt0160alt,alt0160alt... in 98se it's not necessary to repeat. it is not active desktop.

I enjoy classical, but not so much the popular tunes that everyone knows, I prefer obscure or unknown pieces. Especially love a well executed violin concerto.

And if it ain't that, then I'm usually banging my head to Pantera or Megadeth or Slayer or Godsmack or Soundgarden or my personal favorite band, Badlands.

I like Jewel also, but mainly because I'm totally in love with her (& her voice).

I'm hoping to go see Audio Adrenaline in concert soon. I saw DC TALK in Raleigh, NC @ House Party 99 (jars of clay and delirous were there) Walnut Creek theater exploded when DC TALK came out. I had the best time, and met a few cool friends.

Actually, chipbgt, both Scott and I usually run a LOT of programs simultaneously. My having at least 10 windows open is my basic use - having 20+ windows open happens pretty regularly. hmmm, is there a way to not have the the recycle bin show on the desktop?
I know you can use TweakUI to remove it, but if you're using TweakUI then
you could just rename the recycle bin. But if there is a way to remove the
icon from the desktop, then you could just make a shortcut to the recycle bin
and be able to name that shortcut whatever you want. And a shortcut to the
recycle bin acts as if it were the recycle bin, it let's you right-click to
empty it and all that jazz.

The easiest way and the best is to open the BMP file in a photo editor that can also save the file as a JPG file as well as many others. There is tons of freeware and shareware and of course full-blown photo editors such as Adobe Photoshop that will cost you an arm and a leg http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif or http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif depending on your wallet!

Some good desktops.

But I can't belive none of you guys are using Litestep or one of the other shell replacements. I have been using litestep for over 2 years. This is actually an older version then the one you can get now.

Thats a cut away drawing in the back ground of a Zero.

Notice the side bar with everything I need fast. You can have it stay out like that or slide back into nothing like a start bar at the bottom. ( I run it sliding )

Starting from the top they are, System stuff like config panel and shut down menu. Then time and date with a sysc to online atomic clocks. Web stuff like IE4, Get right And icq. Graphics like PSP6 and 3DsMax r3.1. Then all the stuff that goes along with the ww2 sim Fighter squadron. Then that overflowng box is my drives, A,C,CD-rom, Burner. The last one is the task manager its like your start bar which holds all your minimized apps. You hover your cursor over them to see what each one is. And you right click on it to change pages if you have more then 9 things open.
The start bar that pops up with a right click on the desktop or side bar if the desktop is covered or with the windows key. Its plenty fast and I can't use normal windows anymore. I get lost and it feels too slow and cluttered.

Yes, in Windows, the Print Screen key takes a snapshot of whatever is on the screen at the time. If you press Alt-Print Screen, it captures only the active window.

Once it's captured, you can use the Paint accessory that's included with Windows or any other graphics program you may have.

You then save the file, preferably as a JPEG image to conserve space and save download time, and upload it to someplace online.

Although I would love to post my desktop, I realize that it would be edited in a minute and therefore it would not be worth my time.

Well I guess I will try to post this again! It just disapeared for some reason!
First you need a webpage/webspace. If you do not have one you can get one @ www.geocities.com (http://www.geocities.com)
You will then need to upload a pic there and link to it useing the UBB code.
Next you could read about UBB code here. (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/ubbcode.html)

To see how someone else does it click the http://www.sysopt.com/forum/edit.gif above their post.

put ["img"]Picture URL[/"img]

But without the "'s, I just did that to make it so there is not a pic with an X or whatever

Hey Aura (and everybody else),
Check out this site for Sub-Desktop and GT Ripple. They go great with Ryan's stuff from Digital Blasphemy. No more cheesy icon backgrounds.

I have 30+ wallpaper images that change every five minutes using WallMaster. Thanks to digitalblasphemy.com for the images.
