Is this true? ~Joel brandon184 07-30-2000, 12:23 AM I don't have recovery disks, but any system I have seen, have the OS on them - as far as I know. Brandon grunt 07-30-2000, 02:54 AM With many sytem restore CDs (HP and Compaq included) most files are compressed. If you want to install 95 or 98 off of one of these, then good luck... You will be better off if you get ahold of a 95/98 CD. Richard_Cranium72 07-30-2000, 07:29 AM True, the OS is on the CD's. The no.1 cd is the FULL restore, the no.2 is the one where you can get just one program. If the motherboard has been changed, then the HP mark, called by them "tatooing" is missing, then the disc will not work. Unlike Compaq the HD has nothing special done to it, just the mobo.. The person who sold it to you should have told you if it did or didn't. SysOpt.com
