LJE2 07-31-2000, 02:05 PM No, that is not a good deal, you can find a 4 port USB hub, on pricewatch for $13, without any rebate, a 4 port hub adds three aditional ports to your computer, you now have two ports, if you buy a 4 port hub, it plugs into one of you exhisting ports, giving you a total of 5.Go to Pricewatch, then to Networking other, and then to USB hub. http://www.pricewatch.com Warthog 07-31-2000, 02:13 PM Yeah, that is a bad deal. For cheaper, you could get a new keyboard with 2 USB ports on it http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. Warthog Axel 07-31-2000, 02:30 PM only two holes, huh - yup - sounds like a problem to me - Allow me to apply some sound PC advice in the area of USB ports - stay away from USB keyboards and mice - the USB port doesn't work in safe mode - if you corrupt something and the OS dumps you into safe mode, you won't have access to your system again until you hunt down a PS/2 keyboard at the very least. So - give that some thought when you shop for USB devices. bhess 08-01-2000, 12:18 AM I now have 3 devices and only two holes to put them in. Now what? What it the best way to add USB ports? is this a good deal? here (http://www.cyberrebate.com/catalog/product.asp?sts=nwc45&dept%5Fid=1026&pf%5Fid=10775&target=product%2Easp&mscssid=PRCJ36Q2C7S92PMJ00JP4RUP2J2NB1D2) [This message has been edited by bhess (edited 07-31-2000).] Strip 08-01-2000, 12:21 AM A simple split or an USB hub. Many monitors have hubs built-in into the foot. Some keyboards have it too. Cheapest way would be a 2-way split though. Edit» I'm not sure if "split" is the correct English word... [This message has been edited by Strip (edited 07-31-2000).] chipbgt 08-01-2000, 12:38 AM Split works just fine, Strip http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Either of those ways will work fine for you. bhess 08-01-2000, 03:50 AM Yeah I never understood why they would make a USB mouse or keyboard. I was wondering if anyone would get the two holes line. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif This seems like a good deal unless anyone disagrees with a $10 coupon: http://www.us.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10009975&loc=101 SysOpt.com
