I have put up with it long enough.

Whenever I go to a forum in here, say CPU's, when I hit the back button, all the things are erased, so it shows there are no new messages. It happenes EVERY TIME, and is getting REALLY annoying.

Can anyone help me?

try this:

click on the 'Tools' menu and go into 'Internet Options'. go down to where it say "Temporary Internet Files" and click on the 'Settings' button. right on the top, select the radio button entitled "Every Visit to the Page".

just try it out; i think it should work.

I sometimes have the same problem with IE. I notice that if I go to sysopt (or any message board), go to another site, then come back within 5-10 minutes, it hasnt updated the new posts...however under Netscape, its on the ball everytime. I have to refresh with IE. But then again Netscape has become so bogged down its not worth it to me.

Hmm, Chip, I don't have that problem w/IE501 & W95. W9X has a few minor glitches in its TIF management -- I use Cache Sentry to polish the TIF folder up. I dunno.

Have you deleted your cookies and gone back to the preference page and had a new cookie set yet? How about clearing your cache? I have notice IE5.5 does this "glitch" more often than IE5.0 or 5.01. also how you have your options setup for browsing will also effect how things work. If you have it set to update everytime you hit a page it will cause the type problem you are discribing.

Good luck
