Swap File - Help!

I'm trying to move my swap file to a seperate partition but am having trouble - here goes.....

I go into Virtual Memory settings and select 'let me specify my own...' I choose the E drive (which has 397Mb free) and put the min & max at 397Mb. After clicking OK I restart but when I check the virtual mem settings again its returned to the C drive.

So, what am I doing wrong?

Try setting less than 397 MB as the drive might not have fully that amount available and it is quite a lot for a swap file. depending on RAM 100 to 300 would be plenty

I think W98 is known to do that one time, but if you try again, it'll let you. Check or add into the file System.ini, in the [386Enh] section, for your custom settings, ex.:

PagingDrive=E:
MinPagingFileSize=163840
MaxPagingFileSize=163840

This would be for 160 MB swapfile, which is much more reasonable (be sure you HAVE the space).
