Death To Mel

I am currently trying hard to finish up a deal with sweeper and I wonder if anyone can help me. I sent him a check in the mail an put 2 45 cent stamps (Post office said 55 cent or something close to) on it and he has not recieved it. It was sent 2 weeks ago. Any ideas on what happend to it? I put a return address on it so it should come back if there are any problems right?

I just thought that I would let everyone in on this as it might make sweeper feel a bit better and I think that a deal that has a few hitches can, in the end, make both involved more experienced and even trusted http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
HE WILL GET HIS MONEY EVEN IF I HAVE TO DRIVE TO HIS HOUSE MYSELF!!! (He lives bout 2000km away at least) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Death to Mel and Sweeper, the Postal Service must be having a difficult time catching up from the holidays and weather, because I sent a person a check back on 12/19 and it still hasn't arrived yet, either. If it's a major issue, just send him a replacement check and have him return the other when it gets there. I believe you could trust each other enough to handle it that way. I had a similar situation a couple of years ago when I sent a person that was in the military a money order for some parts. 40 days later, he still had not received it, so I sent him a check as a replacement. The same day my check arrived, his neighbor brought the money order to him that had been mistakenly placed in his mailbox while he was on an extended vacation, so, you see, weird things can happen with the mail. Certainly not the norm, but it does seem to be happening more often lately. My mail person is so spacey that at least once a week my neighbor brings my mail down to me. Hope you get it worked out, because I think both of you are stand-up guys.

I will second that. Mail is running really slow, people have been sending me payment by regular mail and it still has not arrived 3 weeks later. I think USPS priority mail would be the preferred method in most trades, but especially around the holidays. It just makes the transaction much faster and smoother for everyone, IMO.

Hope you get it worked out.

My gf bought an item off ebay and it was shipped using USPS priority mail on the 4th. The package was just delievered yesterday.

The USPS usually fast with priority mail. I perfer it over UPS. This recent incident makes me wonder. What courier is actually reliable.

FYI, FedEX and USPS have teamed up to help the USPS with their Piority mail deliveries and for doing this the USPS will allow FedEX to place FedEX drop boxes at all Post offices.

I saw this on the new last night.
