I may be paranoid but I think that my employer may have put one on my computer. The problem is that it is MY computer, purchased by me before i even started here. I hear rumors that they have something like this on the company's comps. I dont like the idea of someone "snooping" on my comp or spying on me. For those about to give a lecture on work ethics, I do not work for an hourly wage sometimes i work for 20 hours (though am always here 40 in case of emergencies) and sometimes for 80 a week. And yes, sometimes (like now) I make posts on BBS's, and surf. As long as my work gets done I feel it is none of their business.
Any way to check/get rid of it? Also any other security things i should be doing? (I have never had to think about this stuff before, it's sooo creepy) Any suggestions?
BTW: I pay for my own ISP, I dont like the company's

If it's YOUR computer, you should just password it and give no one else access to it. As for trying to figure out if there is a snooping program installed, what OS are you running?

Win 95a, should upgrade but all the business apps run great.
How do i set a password? This bios only lets me set a password to get into bios. Windoze will let you set your user password but thats useless!

Maybe try Zonealarm or another firewall. Zonealarm will tell you when certain programs are accessing the net. So if the keylogger is trying to send you can stop it. Do you work at home?

Here is a detection program that claims to spot key loggers in addition to interceptors
and trojans. Never tried it myself.
PC Security Guard (http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Hills/8839/pcguar.html)
The read-me file says it is a full featured 15 day shareware.

Edit- actually, I think the above utility is supposed to be installed on a known "clean" computer and detects if someting is later added. (like I said, I never tried it).
This one sounds like the one that can detect previously installed loggers or spys.

Here is a freebie that makes files and folders unrecoverable:
BC Wipe (http://www.jetico.sci.fi/)
Check this one out though, look under "key features". This one removes stuff from all the hiding places in Windows.
Evidence Eliminator (http://www.evidence-eliminator.com/main.shtml)
Hope that helps Flash. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
