Hello All,

I know that Micronics has been around and providing great products since the Big Bang! I've used a Micronics mobo since the 286. They had a good and diverse product line, and like those folks that like Fords exclusively, I like Micronics!! Then they get bought-up by Diamond MM and their product line is slashed to three upgrade-quality boards (the "C" series). Now that S3 has purchased Diamond MM, it appears that Micronics has been jettisoned in favor of purely video products.

I use the C400 mobo in 8 of the computers that I routinely use in my business...they're easy to set up and work reliably like pack horses(!).
My question is: Does anyone have the story as to what has happened to Micronics? Are they now history??? The "history" answer will force my decision to upgrade to something else that will have active and future support.

Thanks...

Tony

Any takers...I can't seem to find any new news regarding Micronics!

TIA

Micronics was bought out by Diamond. But when Diamond merged with S3 they pretty much dropped all support for there boards.
I'm also using a C400 motherboard. I had a celeron 533 and then a P3-600 running on it now(fastest P3 it will recognize). It does not support the P3-coppermines or the Celeron2's. I can overclock the board with H-Oda's SoftFSB program. It's been about a year since the last BIOS update and I don't think one will be released...
