need cheap PCI sound card...

I need need me a cheap PCI sound card known to work under win2k. I will buy or trade. I have a Aureal Vortex1 that does not work consistently with win2k. This card would probably work under a win95 or 98 OS. Please let me know. I really would like to have sound on my computer.

I was able to get a sound card based on the Aureal Vortex Advantage (8810) chipset (I/O Magic MagicSound PCI) and a sound card based on the Aureal Vortex 2 (8830) chipset (SQ2500) to work fine under Windows 2000 with the Aureal beta reference drivers but it took some effort.
I have not tried a Vortex 1 card though.
I have the Vortex Advantage card for sale for $15 shipped if you want it, but if you have trouble with the Vortex 1 in your computer it might be a poor choice.

i have since found out that the aureal vortex chipset in general does not work with high-end AMD processors.I have a 1Ghz Athlon classic, so in that I am out of luck as far as vortex-based sound cards go...

still on the lookout for a card, though
