Is anyone else tired of listening to people having problems with Windows ME? It hasn't been released yet, so obviously these people got it from not-so-legal measures. I beta tested this OS and worked hard doing so. If you people need help with it, why not try an EFNET channel like #winMe or #windows-me or something--since they are one of the likely distributors of the OS. just a thought.

If you don't wanna help, don't respond. It's that simple. If you're trying to make some kind of anti-piracy statement, say so. Not tryin to rag on you, it's just unnecessary *****ing.

Jesus! Who is this Soopa dude.......
Not once have I seen you reply to a WinME problem with out *****ing at the user.
How the F^*K do you know they aren`t beta users? They might be a beta user, but not sure how to fix a problem......
I enquired at the microsoft site about being a beta tester for Win2000, and they did indeed send me a pack through the post, including Win2000 Pro, Win2000 Server and Win2000 Advanced Server.....(beta`s of course).
If you think being a beta tester is something special, think again!
And, just because your a bit os a Pu$$y, if you need proof that I have all that (even though I don`t claim to be an expert with computers) Let me know, and I will scan the whoel lot in for you, and forward to your email!.....
Take a break dude, the world is not coming to an end, WinME isn`t something to stress over! In fact, I reackon it`s *****!.....actually, pretty much everyting Bill has anything to do with is *****.....

Techie Dude, take it easy with your responses.
Please state your opinion without disrespect and insults. It's totally unnecessary and not how things are done around here.

Q: Jesus! Who is this Soopa dude.......
A: someone who has made more than three posts to the board and who supports the software industry.
Q: How the F^*K do you know they aren`t beta users? They might be a beta user, but not sure how to fix a problem
A: They stopped accepting beta testers for Winme around December. Then, they made cuts to the testers for each official release (beta 1, 2, 3, RC1, RC2, RC3). Depending on how useful your bug submissions and how yoru comments on error messages as well as participation with the BBS went. So, if someone is using the final version now, they obviously did not get it from MS.
I enquired at the microsoft site about being a beta tester for Win2000, and they did indeed send me a pack through the post, including Win2000 Pro, Win2000 Server and Win2000 Advanced Server.....(beta`s of course).
I would find that very interesting since the beta tester acceptance stopped well over a year ago. maybe you got it confused with the Direct Access pack. There are 1000's of people submitting beta requests to MS on a daily basis. They just don't mail this out to anyone that inquires about it. Unless you happen to be a member of one of their MSDN subsriptions. Not only that, I would love to see on MS's webpage where you 'enquired" [sic] to beta test since it is one via snail mail or maybe email only.
If you think being a beta tester is something special, think again!
nope, I sure don't think it is.
Not going to bother replying to the rest of your message as I don't think it is worth it.
I realize that 'warez' is an active part of the computer world. In fact, I have some myself. But, I don't go stupidly asking question about an OS that has not been officially released for public use. I relaize software is expensive, thats why I goto places like edu.com and needosftware.com. Get if for dirt cheap.
And, for your information, I have replied to winMe posts in the past without speaking my mind on piracy. I personally think software piracy has a somewhat positive affect on software use. If it wasn't for piracy, I doubt MS would be where it is today.
Its late and I am tired and don't feel like replying anymore to this moron. When you get out of high school and get a job in the real world in the IT business, you will realize what its about. I have been working for a software company for almost 6 years now and have worked hard to keep our software legit.
Thanks.

I guess the whole point I was trying to find out is if anyone felt the way i did on the whole subject of piracy. I mean, I know we all do it--its hard not to. It can honestly be ridiculous NOT to do it. Heck, thsi thread can probably be closed. I just had to vent.

I had a chance to pick up a copy for $20 but decided I would rather have a full in the retail box version. Some things you just have to buy brand new. I wish they would lower the price though, $89 is still to expensive. I'd say $49 would be fair and $29 would be a bargain.

Jacob: check www.edu.com (http://www.edu.com) when its is actually released-just out of curiousity, where did you see that advertised?

Hey Soopastar....
I have RC copies of WinME straight from MS thru MSDN subscriptions.
OEM's have final release soft already, and have had for a while.
It's not all pirated, thank you.
