BusinessObjects

I am trying to gather information on "Business Objects", one of the leaders in the business intelligence industry. I do not notice Business Objects in the ResellerRating.com alphabetical listing.
Does anyone have a reference to critical evaluations/studies of this software product by end users?
Thank you for assistance.

Awhile back whilst kicking around to see what opportunities abound. Someone asked me about 'Business Objects'. As this is often a term used in OOP, my answer was very confusing to them. Once we noticed the confusion, they stated 'Business Objects' was a software package (Computer Associates? nope, Business Objects).
From that time until now, you are the first reference to 'Business Objects', since that last discussion. As I am a software developer working with some newer technologies (EJB, WebSphere, XML), I can only state that I have heard next to nothing about the product. It appears to be an OTS Enterprise solution.
It might be the best thing since they decided to slice and individually wrap each piece of cheese, but why is there so little press about the product?
It has been my experience that OTS solutions ultimately cost more than custom solutions (sounds like a consultant, huh?). Anyway, OTS appears cheaper as the only dev costs are buying the package. So one buys the package and it does 75% of what one needs. Now, one needs to pay twice as much for product knowledge consultants to come in and customize the OTS solution. Then everytime change is required, one can see how costly this can become.
A custom solution on a common technology (java) requires the dev process, but when finished the software should do 100% of one's needs. Any changes can be easily accomplished by developers of that common technology, not some strange package nobody knows (can anyone say pcXpress?).
