I need to change my IRQ settings they are a mess and is cuasing my brandnew system to crash, Please help current settings are used bye one device all the way to 08 but after that it gets all messed up. Please help, a stable system would sure be nice. PS im running Windows Mellenium which is very similar to 98 so dont ask

I don't know about anyone else..but I am tired of answering questions about Windows Me--only because it hasn't been released yet. So people who are using it obviously shouldn't be.
That being said-your message probably hasn't gotten answered because your "title" is vague and probably just gets skipped over.
Try rebooting into safe mode and checking out the device manager for 'ghost devices'--ones that aren't really there. Also, try checking your bios to make sure that the control of your com ports, lpt port are set to "auto" (I can't tell you how to do this since I don't know what bios you have), also make sure you have told your bios that you are using a PNP/Plug-n-play Operating system.

im not asking a question about windows me im asking how to change IRQ settings The windows me comment was just incase it is important if you tell me the way to do it in 98 i can figure out how in ME
