i am looking to build a system. all i have right now are the monitor, case (mid tower atx) and speakers. i have a gigabyte mobo, but i dont know if thats the best one. i want to get a ~500 mhz celeron or k62 and possibly overclock. so if you have a mobo and chip, i want it! i also need a sound card, video card, memory, cd rom, floppy, hard drive....etc.
all in all i need:
-~500 mhz chip
-overclockable mobo
-10-20 gig 7200 rpm HD
-memory
-good vid card (voodoo or geforce)
-cdrom
-floppy

If ya want a good mobo, try getting a p5a-b with a k6-2 500.
The p5a-b I have myself too, not for sale though, and it ran my k6-2 450 at 540, which is 4.5 x 120.
120Mhz fsb for a k6-2 system ain't bad I recon.
The epox g2 is also pretty good with higher fsb's.
But, did ya consider getting a cel2 533 with fitting mobo???
Ya can clock those babies to 800 with almost no effort.

If you are wanting to OC, then I would suggest going with an Athlon and an Abit KA7-100 motherboard. I got one and was able to put mine up to 916 mhz for a while (750 processor). The 550 athlons are around $100 (so are the 500's). The motherboard is $150. The regular KA7 is around $130. 20 gig harddrives are around $85-110.
